Sunset Over London

If you need to need a pick me up put this album on and boogie to your hearts content!. The mixture of both live favourites and covers makes this Jools best album yet. Anyone who saw Jools promote this album last year will recognise future classics such as I Dig Rhythm & Blues and Let The Good Times Roll. Along side the new tracks are covers of both Dangerman and Lady Madonna which Jools has given his unique treatment to and which stands out as one of the funkiest versions I have heard.

The album also features Sam Brown harmonising as always against Jools mellow tones and all in all the album is the perfect introduction to the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra sound. My personal favourites are I Dig Rhythm & Blues and the title track As The Sun Sets Over London.

Sunset Over London is released by Warner.esp records and is available now.

Richard Fletcher, July 2000
